As defined in our double materiality assessment, “Climate Change” is about making the impacts of climate change less severe by preventing or reducing the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) into the atmosphere. The goal of climate change mitigation is to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, in line with the Paris Agreement. In 2023, we recalculated our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, as we endeavour to do each year. This is going to give us a better understanding of our overall contribution to climate change going forward, encouraging us to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions deriving from our entire value chain.

Product CO2 footprint calculation

We currently assess the CO₂ footprint of our products using the On-Track calculation tool, which is ISO 14067 certified and specifically designed for the media product industry. Our analysis follows a "cradle-to-gate" approach, meaning we account for the footprint from raw material extraction through production and transport to our Polish warehouse. This process involves utilizing both detailed material information and estimated data to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of our environmental impact. The CO₂ footprint is mentioned on the Green Passports.

Towards full LCA

Our ambition is to expand our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology from a "cradle-to-gate" to a more comprehensive "cradle-to-grave" calculation by 2025 and 2026. To achieve this, we are committed to gathering more in-depth data from our suppliers on their environmental footprint, covering all stages of production and material sourcing. We will also collaborate outbound transport partners to ensure accurate measurements of transport-related emissions to our customers. Additionally, we plan to incorporate certified end-of-life estimations, allowing us to better understand and mitigate the environmental impact of our products throughout their entire lifecycle, including disposal or recycling.

Decarbonisation & SBTi in 2025

Building on the comprehensive Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions calculations conducted in 2022 and 2023, we are currently developing a decarbonisation roadmap in 2024, with plans for implementation in 2025. This roadmap will outline clear strategies and actions to reduce our carbon footprint across all operational areas. In 2025, we will set ambitious targets and pledge our commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This commitment will provide a structured framework for our organisation to meet its sustainability objectives while contributing to the global efforts to limit climate change, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. By aligning with SBTi and Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action), we aim to play our part in achieving a net-zero future.
