Glass & Ceramics
Glass and ceramics are popular materials for our mugs and drinkware. Both are made from non-renewable resources that have to be mined, so look for the recycled versions on the PF Concept Store! Check out the table below for some of the main differences in material properties and recyclability of glass and ceramic.
Glass
Strong, durable and food-safe
Can be endlessly recycled without losing quality
Glass-recycling is often less energy intensive than manufacturing new glass from raw material
Raw material mining for glass production has a high environmental cost

Ceramic
Strong, durable and food-safe
Better thermal insulation than glass
Ceramics are more difficult to recycle, usually leading to a weaker product
